Connect with your co-workers and learn something new, with our Hub Huddle gatherings

February 6th, 2020

Sometimes, it’s important to a break from the office. Take your lunch hour elsewhere, stretch your legs and have a blether. Here at Eskmills, we are delighted to supply our office staff with that very opportunity. We have recently introduced our ‘Hub Huddle’ occurring once monthly in Hercules House.

Here lies an opportunity for a change of scenery and possibly to even learn something new. Have lunch in a relaxed environment, surrounded by colleagues, or meet others working near you who you haven’t yet crossed paths with. This is a fabulous opportunity for all of our office workers to develop our sense of community and to spark potential friendships among us. We’ve even installed a ping pong table, so come with a competitive flair, or sit back and participate in this spectator sport.

Furthermore, once monthly in accordance with these gatherings, we will be inviting speakers on a large variety of topics in to discuss these topics or issues with you. Each will share a short presentation to those in attendance as well as be available for any further questions you may require the answers to later on.

For example, this month we are greatly looking forward to welcoming Ross Lamb from Bowel Cancer UK. Ross’s presentation is of ultimate importance, in recent years bowel cancer cases have been increasing amongst the British population. Consequently, we feel it necessary that people are made more aware of health risks such as this and are fully informed. Ross’s presentation will include; signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, the health risks involved and also information on bowel screening. This allows us to learn the key facts about bowel cancer as well as the steps we can take to keep ourselves safe and the importance of doing so.

Many of Bowel Cancer UK’s volunteers have personal connections to the disease, therefore are every well informed and have a great deal of knowledge and experience to share. Free informational materials will also be available to pick up and you will have ample opportunity to ask any questions the presentation may provoke.

These meets are designed to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all and are the perfect opportunity for us to become better educated on subjects which impact upon the lives of many.

Running from 12:30 until 1:30 on Thursday 20th February, we hope to see lots of our colleagues at Hercules House, to spend a more relaxed lunch break among the company of others working around us.
