Coronavirus: What Eskmills is doing to help you

Eskmills, disinfectant bottle, spray bottle, antibacterial, coronavirus
As you’ll be more than aware, we’re currently experiencing an unprecedented global pandemic, with the COVID-19 coronavirus. Understandably, this is a very concerning time for businesses big and small, and employers who are unsure how to best proceed.

Government advice has urged everyone who can work from home to do so, but we appreciate that our tenants have a diverse range of business operations, and working from home may not be possible for all of you. Therefore, we would like to reassure you all that we are doing the best that we can to help support those businesses who are continuing to travel to their workplace during this time.

At Eskmills, we are currently following the most up-to-date Government guidelines, in order to best protect our tenants and staff from Coronavirus. You can view these guidelines here.

We’ve changed the working hours of our cleaners, so moving forwards, we will have our usual routine every morning, with an additional member of staff during the hours of 9am-4pm to clean all communal areas.

Government advice states that it’s best to regularly clean your working environment, especially if you’re working in an office with several others, so if you should require your own cleaning company to help keep on top of these, we can recommend the following local businesses:

Sophie Sparkles, based at Eskmills
Telephone 0330 124 7299
Spotless, based in Musselburgh
Telephone 0330 094 7733

The Scottish Government has published a workplace cleaning checklist to help you maintain a clean and hygienic office environment, including routine cleaning and disinfection of the following objects and surfaces:

– Telephones
– Keyboards
– Door handles
– Desks and tables
– Any other high-traffic areas or frequently-touched surfaces

Please remember that crockery and cutlery in shared kitchen areas should be thoroughly cleaned with warm water and detergent, and dried thoroughly. Also please be sure to provide plentiful hand soap and hand sanitiser for your staff to have ready access to use, as well as paper towels if possible to allow them to dry hands thoroughly. We also urge you to have tissues readily available and urge staff to catch coughs and sneezes in tissues and bin them immediately.

We also ask you to ensure that food, such as crisps, sandwiches, pastries etc., are not left open for communal sharing, unless individually wrapped.

Basic hand-washing remains the most effective way of preventing the spread of infection. We are promoting effective hand hygiene by ensuring that our staff, contractors, service users and visitors all have access to hand-washing facilities and alcohol-based hand gel.

We have set up an email address for you to inform us if someone in your business has developed symptoms, along with detailing the common areas where that individual has been. Please don’t hesitate to contact us on this email address in the first instance, should you need to: report@eskmills.com

As ever, we hope that all of our Eskmills staff and tenants stay safe, healthy and calm in this concerning time.
