The Eskmills Charity Hickory Open 2008 - (Friday 20th June 2008)

This was the 3rd year for this event and followed last year's format of a shotgun start followed by the opportunity to continue the day by attending the race event at Musselburgh Racecourse.
However, this year's event consisted of a single 9 HOLE EVENT. This is due to the popularity of the golfers having the chance to make a complete day of golf and horse racing, ("Putt and Flutter"). On the 20th June 2008 - an afternoon race meeting scheduled allowed for a morning round of golf, lunch and bar, and then the race meeting.

The day's schedule:-
- Arrive by 8.30am for baconrolls and coffee at the clubhouse.
- Quick Instruction about using hickory clubs.
- 9.00am shotgun start - (including a longest drive and nearest the pin competition) - finishing around 11.30am latest.
- Lunch and bar at the clubhouse (or Eskmills Glasshouse tbc)and then the presentation of prizes.
- Followed by the chance to attend the afternoon race meeting,(from around 2pm).

Eskmills invites teams of 4 golfers to complete the round using only traditional hickory clubs, (which are available for hire on the day - along with instruction).

Where better to play than on the historic Musselburgh Links Old Course following the footsteps of 'Open Championship' golfers - and using the same style traditional hickory clubs?

Further details of 2009 EVENT will be available on this website. Enquiries can be made at the Isertal / Eskmills office in Stuart House.
