Employment at Eskmills Passes 500

Employment at Eskmills has passed 500 , making the development one of the most significant employment hot-spots in the county.

This important milestone was reached with the relocation of Greenwood Personal Credit, part of Provident Financial plc – an existing Eskmills tenant.

It rounds off a year which has seen significant change and growth at Eskmills, with the final phase of redevelopment to Archibald Hope House now under way.

Once completed next year, Eskmills will have been returned to a fully-working Grade B Listed site, after some ten years of painstaking commitment from the developers, Isertal Limited.

It will bring a full circle to the 19th century fishing net mill which, in its heyday, was a major employer in Musselburgh.

“We are absolutely delighted that we round off 2003 with the news that employment at Eskmills has grown so significantly,” said Malcolm Gillies, Isertal Limited.

“With our plans for geothermal heating and cooling, our proactive approach to waste management and our continued desire to see only the very best of facilities here – we believe that we have created a commercial success story that East Lothian can be proud of,” he said.January 2004
