The Musselburgh Business Partnership is Launching at Eskmills

April 24th, 2018

The newly formed Musselburgh Business Partnership is launching soon at Eskmills, and you’re invited! Join us on Tuesday 15th May from 6pm to 8pm for the launch evening, where there will be networking, drinks and speeches from special guests.

There are over 400 businesses in Musselburgh (pretty impressive for a small town!), but they had no collective voice to lobby the local, regional and national agencies which affect business within the town. So, the Musselburgh Business Partnership was formed.

It’s a not-for-profit company which follows a community interest co-operative model, and they aim to provide local businesses with that collective voice. The Musselburgh Business Partnership is here to represent you, and raise the issues that matter most to its members.

Inaugural Chair, Malcolm Currie, says: “Membership will be open to any business trading in Musselburgh – any size, any sector – and I hope we get the full range.  The Partnership has been formed to be a voice for business in fora like the Council’s Area Partnership and to create a more helpful environment for businesses to grow and thrive.”

Alongside Midlothian & East Lothian Chief Executive, Keith Barbour, guest speakers at the launch will include Steve Newlin, advisor at Business Gateway East Lothian.

Steve says: “The Musselburgh Business Partnership is an opportunity to bring a collective of businesses together for the common good. We all face similar challenges and have a huge amount of skill and experience to share – if we can learn together, and have an impartial sounding board to go to, then we can all grow our businesses in today’s competitive and busy world.”

We’re always keen to support local business, and can’t wait to see how the new Musselburgh Business Partnership will benefit our tenants here at Eskmills as well as the wider business community.

If you’re interested in finding out more about the organisation, please do join us for the launch evening on the 15th May to see how local businesses can help each other and how we can come together to create a vibrant, diverse and supportive business community.

The evening will start with a meet and greet at 6pm, followed by short talks from our speakers at 6.30pm. Then from 7.15pm, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking (along with refreshments and snacks!).
